lose your train of thought
“Lose someone's train of thought” means forget what you were thinking, right in the middle of thinking about it.
Lose someones train of thought 意思是“正说着就给忘记了”。比如你和小伙伴正在吐槽，突然接了个电话，打完电话你就忘记你刚刚说哪儿了，一脸懵逼的问小伙伴“我刚刚讲哪儿了”。这种情况就叫做 lose one's train of thought。
What was I saying? I lost my train of thought.
我刚刚说啥来着的？我想不起来了。
I was in the middle of telling a story, but the phone rang and I lost my train of thought.
刚说着说着突然接了个电话，就忘了我刚说的啥了。
slip one's mind
忘记某事除了可以说 I forget，还可以说 something slip one’s mind。
I can’t believe I forgot her birthday. It completely slipped my mind!
不敢相信，我竟然忘记她的生日了... 我完全不记得了。
He forgot to get some milk at the grocery store. I guess it just slipped his mind.
他没有买牛奶回来。我估计他给忘记了。
TIP: Pronunciation note: Remember, the -ed at the of slipped is pronounced /t/. The -ed is not pronounced as a separate syllable.

“明明知道，却打死想不起来怎么说”，这种情况就是 be on the tip of one’s tongue。

sth. rings a bell 的意思是“有印象，但是不完全记得了”。sth. doesn't rings a bell 的意思则是“不记得，没印象了”。
His name rings a bell, but I can’t remember what he looks like.
我对他的名字有印象，但是想不起来他长什么样子了。
A: Have you seen that new TV show, the one about the married couple?
A：你看了那部新剧吗? 就是讲一对夫妻的。
B: It doesn’t ring a bell.
B：没印象...
It went in one ear and out the other.
这句短语很好理解了，用来表示”上一秒听下一秒忘”这种情况简直再好不过了。go in one ear and out the other 的意思就是“左耳进右耳出”，是不是很贴切? 发生这种情况，往往是因为没有在认真专注的听。屏幕前的你是不是上课总这样?
